The cabin in the woods has gone modern while maintaining some essential rustic elements.  The two-story wall of glass brings nature indoors, while the wood stove in the center of the main living area has been a staple of cottage and cabin retreats for centuries.  The architect's decision to bring elements of the exterior construction (asphalt shingles and corrugated metal shutters) into the interior space further blend the indoor and outdoor spaces and keep guests in tune with nature whether seated in the living room or on the porch.
